Greetings Wingnuts!

You may have noticed a considerable staleness on this website in the last month. We apologize for that delay, but I just wanted to let you know we’ll be revamping the site around the first of the year. As such, I’ll be bringing on a couple of new authors to keep things fresh and debates hot. Additionally, if you’d be interested in joining on as a regular contributor, drop me an e-mail at gideon (dot) oakes (at) gmail.com. We’d love to see you.

Our hope with this new format is that we can get away from the traditional blog feeling of one man’s rantings. Our authors will probably be of similar mindset to me, but with a whole different perspective and set of life experiences. That should keep things interesting enough for you to come back and visit us on a regular basis, and maybe even drop a comment here and there.

With that, I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Joyous New Year!
Gid

OK. At one time in your life you have/will make $20,000. So let’s compare $1 to 1 second.

20,000 second ago was almost 6 hours!

1 million seconds ago was 11 1/2 days ago….Today is November 26th around noon. So that would be about Saturday, November 15th midnight.

1 billion seconds ago would be 31 YEARS ago…1977, back when gas was about $.60 per gallon.

1 trillion seconds ago would be almost 33,000 YEARS ago…29,000 B.C.!

So when you’re hearing the government wants another figure with a dollar amount in front of it, just remember what a trillion is! Also don’t forget, EVERYONE in Washington, D.C. is responsible for this - Bush, Obama, McCain, all your congressional representatives, all your lobbyists…everyone but you! But you are picking up the bill! And even though 5 hours seems like some time; do YOU want to spend all of it paying off the irresponsible spending of others!?

Most Likely…..Probable…..Plausible…..Consensus….’Billy did it!’

All these statements have a thread of doubt in them. If you’ve ever been at the short end of the stick you know that a 99.5% guarantee doesn’t include your .5%. Any time you have a choice, there are two things that are going to happen the outcome you expect or the one you don’t.

Most Americans believed that the Bailout would work! Most people thought that global warming would have killed us 10 years ago! Most people believed they would get cash back from their Discover Card. Why do we believe that our government might solve problems? And not be the CAUSE of them?

Phrases like ’Most likely to’ are used to validate statements or assign labels. The power WE have is to research these statements, ignore the story or follow the herd and get sucked in to the ideas of lazy or deceitful writers!

When a phrase like ‘the Probability of this happening…’ or ‘this will Most Likely be…’ comes up in an issue that you feel is important; research it! Take the time to know what the facts are, before you set your heart to an issue! If you don’t think some of the information is factual, you might be right! So use your mind and think!

Even if you think differently than I do, please keep thinking! Mistakes don’t do as much damage as ignorance does! Ignorance doesn’t look for correction, where as, mistakes always encourage improvement!

A great line in the movie DUNE…

‘I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when my fear is gone I will turn and face fear’s path, and only I will remain.‘

It is sooo easy for government to scare us. All we have to do is let Washington D.C. go unchecked. Stop thinking and forget the constitution. Then government can step in, say our country is in trouble and start spending our money; in spite of what we say or do. Fear then tells us we can’t do anything. When we remove fear, we realize we need to contact our congressmen and tell them how things are. Take the issue back by the pen, which is mightier than the sword.

Fear is a distressing emotion aroused by impending danger, evil, pain, etc., whether the threat is real or imagined. Fear can cause inactivity or rash behaviour. But what it doesn’t cause is thinking. You have to remove fear before cognitive thought can occur. Fear is often used to control large groups of people!

The reason Wingnuts study the U.S. Constitution and our Founding Documents is that it continues to remind and instruct us that “We the People” are meant to govern the United States not a few select individuals! Trying NEW things doesn’t work unless you know why the old system was set in place. Government control. And if YOU think government control won’t effect you. Do you really know that!? How about liquor being the new tobacco? How about you just being afraid to speak what you really think? You don’t need to be afraid, just conscious that those things can happen.

Start making a habit of writing letters to our representatives. Write a snail mail letter, for greater effect. Drown out the special interest groups and the lobbyists voice, because they really don’t care about what you want. Maybe we need to write them also!

All you need to do is be brave. Bravery doesn’t ignore the fear; it conquers the fear! Then you will come up with more than one solution to the problem. Then figure out how to carry out the plan. My solutions are writing government, getting involved in government and getting others involved contacting their representatives. It’s not easy. If you want easy - be afraid! It’s just not as hard as you think!

Land of the Free and Home of the Brave!

Editorial(Just so there’s no misunderstanding):

Obama has little experience in political leadership. Community experience, yes! A Good Speaker, yes! Political experience, a little. But no political leadership. Heck, he held the Freshman US Senate seat for his state. People voted for him on his platform - Change.

McCain has Uber experience in political leadership. He has the classic presidential experience(excluding the gubernatorial.) He is a war veteran. He has a long Senate record, which he is infamous for crossing party lines and creating legislation with the party leaders. If McCain is anything, he is a moderate.

Barack Obama’s message has always been pointing out the failures of the current administration and offering a different option. He has always shown himself as an original thinker and an excellent public speaker. The reason to vote for him was a ‘change’ of the current administration.

John McCain’s message was ‘you know me’. He then told you what he was: a POW, a Moderate Senator, a Fair Play kind-a-guy(He more than once apologized to Obama and reprimanded his constituents for comments on Barack, he thought, were unfair.) His only play to conservatism was Sarah Palin, which doubled his poll numbers and allowed him a chance at the presidency.

Now, Election day comes around. If you had to make a choice between ‘the first African American President’ and ‘an Old Vietnam Veteran’ the response would have to be ‘why not take the opportunity to show the whole world that All Men Are Created Equal?’ If Only… I know that people voted this way, but those votes were few.

Progressives will always vote for change even if what they have works. They are driven by a need to contribute new ideas into the system and a rebellious nature. The democrats will vote democrat, as republicans will vote republican. Independents vote for the candidate who gives them the most of their favorite issues. But conservatives needed to make a considerable choice.

The choice conservatives had to make was:

1. Do we vote for a moderate to keep someone out-of-office, because all we do know about Obama is his friends are anti-American?

Or

2. Do we want a moderate President that will dump all his failures on conservatism?

Sarah Palin showed voters John McCain knew what conservatives wanted. John ended up showing he didn’t care what conservatives wanted. Because as much as Dick Cheney did for America and this administration, he was never President; and Sarah Palin would have been nothing more than a scape-goat!

Obama won because he was new and articulate. But McCain lost because he tried to be everything to everyone and showed everyone something they didn’t want.

But good news Conservatives, we won also! We saw that our principles inspire people! We found proof of who the RiNO’s are (Colin Powell, Larry Pressler, RFO, etc.) We got the chaff separated from the wheat and we should document that information, so we don’t allow these people to represent us as conservatives, anymore.

As a Christian, I will pray for Obama as our President. I will also support him when he makes good decisions and I will be a patriot by objecting to policies that are against American principles. I also have the luxury of working against John McCains screwball policies when the opportunity arises.

There are many reasons to be afraid, but there is no excuse NOT to be Brave!

I was trying to find candidates who dropped out of presidential races due to sick mothers, and found Fred Thompson’s site is still up and running!

Fred Thompson could have made the 2008 Presidential Debates interesting. He would have at least given Sarah Palin a chance, if she would have had been picked. But one thing you won’t see is Fred dropping his principles. He has changed his website though, to get conservative leaders in political offices. Here is a good summarizing paragraph from his mission statement -

‘FRED PAC will help identify and support candidates on every level who support a platform of conservative, principles-based leadership and policies. This support will arrive in many ways: financial yes, but also through our on-the-ground engagement, and our development and support of principles-based policies.

And perhaps most important, the support of FRED PAC will send a clear message to our fellow conservatives and supporters nationally that our causes and candidates who believe in our principles and who will defend them are in need of our help. ‘

So, do some research and check out Fred!

Rush Limbaugh said (paraphrase) ‘McCain seems to be working FOR Obama..but I have no proof.’

It’s amazing what things are coming up after the election. The MSM clears the air with Bill Ayers, the McCain campaign staff publicly attacks Sarah Palin and now we find that John McCain was working together with Barack Obama.

‘Obama said before the meeting that he and McCain planned “a good conversation about how we can do some work together to fix up the country, and also to offer thanks to Sen. McCain for the outstanding service he’s already rendered.” ‘ - President-elect Obama, McCain vow to work closely By BETH FOUHY of the Associated Press

Yes, That is pretty thin. But what backs up my statement is how McCain fought this election and how he got nominated in the first place. He was weak on Obama, his resume, the lack of examination of Obama from the media, Obama’s changing policies and how his associations would effect his policies. McCain has a bad case of masochistic personality disorder!

And for those who are ignorant of Govenor Sarah Palin abilities. Dialects and Shopping at WalMart doesn’t hurt the opinion of the general voting population. The only thing that will bring Sarah Palin down is the same thing that brought her down on election day - RiNO’s. RiNO’s put their enemies in front of them, so they can stab them in the back!
