Scared into Voting

Posted By Guy Smylie | July 9, 2009

I bet you went out to vote in the last election because you were scared not to. You were scared we would have a conservative woman as Vice President. You were scared to have a Socialist as President. You were scared of having “4 More Years.” You were scared to have someone in the White House without any experience. Did you really vote for the First Black President? That’s as racist as only  voting for white men. Or, were you actually voting for a strong Republican ticket? McCain is far from Republican and no one in Washington would have stopped tearing into Palin as McCain wouldn’t have let them. Fear is the worst of motivators and is also the most influential.

This is where we are as a country, Americans, being afraid. I have two words for you Politically Correct. Those two words shut more mouths due to fear, than any other laws written by Congress. The point was to give others respect. But without understanding the need for earning that respect, we gave something that wasn’t genuine. By doing so we lost some freedom to speak, and we lost the ability to see the speakers true intentions. When we open the door to regulations we close our minds to ethics and morals.

The Environmental Movement created an audacity that we can control something so monumental as the earth and it’s basic functions. Global Warming was scheduled to have destroyed the earth years ago. Yet, here we are! It goes to show what fear can make us do. Videos of polar bears swimming - become polar bear suicide. Scientists claim the world is warming and we believe them. Other scientists explain how the earth warms and cools - and we are told they are enemies of the earth. Fear has always been an instant way to influence people.

Now we have current issues. The global warming issue has turned into a tax bill punishing the most energy efficient countries and leaving China and other massive polluters to destroy the efforts of the rest. Are we afraid of the consequences of the legislation? We should be. But we aren’t voting! And those voting get paid for passing the bill!

The Health Care System is supposed to be so broke only the government can fix it. The Government is pushing fear and we are letting them tell us what to do with our life. What is worse, the ability to chose your own health care or the government rationing it out to you? Why are our fears based on what politicians say and not on past experiences and knowledge? Progression means little when you are progressively destroying your life!

People, be afraid of REAL things like skydiving, losing your freedom or others taking your liberties from you. You have the ability to give away your freedom. But if you do, do not expect it to be given back!

Ohhh who is that I see on the news? Well, it’s the President…despite the attacks, he appears to … still be working. Ahhh yes…the American Way and what’s that? He is NOT blaming others for the incredibly difficult task ahead …

    Except, of course…George W. Bush….

You still haven’t sited any attacks on President Obama.

You’d be more interesting if you had something to contribute to the Steph/Obama getting negative press.

I guess despite attacks or no attacks…I tend to judge on actions. Maybe you don’t, but, I find that reality actually revolves around what a person actually does or does not do opposed to what they say or not say. We live in challenging times and it demands leaders who are serious about leading. This is no time for those who claim to be leaders and do not finish their obligations. Those politicians who can not even finish one term of 4 years are not cut-out to lead the greatest nation on Earth.

Fear had nothing to do with the election for most Americans…I do not base my decisions on fear. It’s not logical.

‘This is no time for those who claim to be leaders and do not finish their obligations.’
    Like Senator Obama?

The actions you judge are heavily biased!

Ohhh yes…and last I checked, President Obama did not drop the committments he made to the American People on Jan 20, to pursue more money or whatever excuse was given for the day.

Obama got more money, didn’t he!? But I think Obama left for more power; and we saw what he did with the power he gained in the Senate. And I don’t think he showed up for work as often as his constituents had hoped for! LOL

It sounds like it’s workin’ for you!
Oh, Sarah Palin is quitting! Oh Sarah Palin is finally out of politics but we’re scared she might be coming back! Oh, Sarah Palin is smarter than President Obama but nobody cared because McCain is a control freak…
