Bernard Madoff: Hero of the Liberals!
Madoff separated thousands of wealthy people from their evil money! Isn’t that what Robin Hood did? Take from wealthy people? He made life better by making rich people poorer! Come on Liberals!! Where are the cheers? They can afford it, Right!?
Of course, there were movie stars and other liberals hurt in the process, so that won’t do! ‘Bush did worse’ - is that what it is? Whatever is IS, I don’t hear the merit’s of taking money from anyone. And, also, Robin Hood was taking from an over-taxing Government, not from the Rich.
I know! It was - Madoff was taking advantage of hard working individuals…But, then, how are tax increases based on how much you’re making, not criminal or segregational. Was it OK to put blacks in the back of the bus, if they liked sitting there? NO! But if you grow up in that environment, you won’t see anything wrong with those practices!
Need I say more!?

Have you seen the list of politicians to whom Madoff made campaign contributions? It reads like a Who’s Who of Liberals.
No surprise there. Liberals are good at stealing and spending other people’s money.
The delicious thing about this is that now the Dems/libs have their own villian after years of screeching about Enron and Republicans. And Madoff is a gazzillion times worse as far as the money involved.

Madoff finally went to jail where he will be kept away in solitary from other prisoners, many of whom would like get a name for killing him.
Now, if his wife, sons and business partners can get the same treatment, maybe people can get some of their money back.
There has to be a money trail, because it would be hard to burn up $50,000,000,000 even if you used your fireplace, which is not likely.
I stand corrected, Obama and friends can burn
$3,000,000,000,000 with the stroke of a pen.
Madof was stealing “chump change” after all. Could be we are being too hard on him after
all. Not!

Well, actually both sides are caught up in all of this, so, no one is really innocent. So, who can you really believe anymore?

Interesting that this guy gets only passing coverage by the Drive-By’s on his 60 Billion scam, But those AIG execs with their 180 million in bonuses….Good god what a distracting outrage.

It’s been a distractting outrage for decades. This is what you get with three decades of excessive greed and irresponsiblity. I saw this coming way back in the 1980’s. Oh well, maybe this economic depression will wipe away some rats…of course…there will always be some rats that survive.
March 21st, 2009 at 6:34 am
I will say the President is doing a good job of calling the rats out. We’ll have to wait and see how it goes. I will admit it’s going to be a rough few years, that’s for sure!

Madoff makes me mad because he abused trust — so what are we supposed to do about the people in Washington abusing our trust with spending that will surely wreck havoc upon us and a fincial burden upon our grandchildren (and they aren’t even born yet). We need a return to some fundamentals that start with truth honesty, and less government — ok I am done ranting for the morning.

Well Lee, we can certainly thank the Republicans as well as some of the Democrats for supporting this kind of greed system that led to the fiasco the President now has to clean up.

I will say that I think the President is attempting to do something meaningful for GM. That company has needed to be restructured for years. Mr. Smylie, we’ll have to wait and see, but, at least give this plan a chance to work. Something has to be done because business as usual hasn’t worked the past 8 years.

We will also have to wait and see what comes out of the G-20 Summit as the President is traveling across Europe this week. It appears he’s got a great deal in the works. I won’t make any judgement calls either way…but, I will say that despite what’s on his plate, the President and the UK Prime Minister are at least tackling the issue of the global economic downturn.

Well, Madoff is soooo old news. However, I do agree that he is a crook no doubt. But, may I turn our attention to what is now being accomplished by a very engaging and much more perceptive Presidential Administration: I find that the President has a great plan that in time may prove to help shorten this already deep recession. It’s quite admirable of him to stress the importance of listening and how that has been lacking in leadership for quite sometime as we’ve witnessed from the many failed business leaders and former political leaders. Mr. Smylie, these issues will take time to solve since the mess, as I’ve said before, took decades in the making. So, I’m going to let time be the decider in all of this. After all, the President is involving our allies around the world in a way we have not seen for quite sometime. Instead of dictating the terms of a failed unilateral policy of the past, the President is taking an approach that will require us all to work together and be committed to the success. We all have an investment in this endeavor whether we choose to participate or not to participate.

Obama has no plan other than to work old programs that have failed like our Social Security Program. It may be interesting to watch but if you take into consideration that we are paying for his inexperience it should at least anger you. But what circumstance would lead you to get angry at Barrack Obama?
