“Yes, we can” just became “Oops, we did”
Well America, I hope you’re happy with yourself. You blissfully sit there having absolutely no idea what you just did to yourselves and your posterity. Your prosperity and your very freedom now hang in the balance, but unlike yesterday, now you don’t have any choice in the matter.
A friend of mine heard me lamenting and said to me, “Oh man, Gid! You should sit back and relax now! The world’s a better place tonight!”
I’m sure to her, it is. For someone who considers herself a “free-thinker,” it must be nice not to have to think anymore. The government will take over that duty for her in exchange for extra tax dollars.
The numb feeling is spreading to my fingers. I’ll be back as soon as I can once again type.

I can never remember being this disappointed in the American people. I’d be tickled to have them get exactly what they deserve if I didn’t know that it is you and me, our children and grandchildren that are going to suffer because of the voters stupidity.

We have been fighting against, not the Democrat party, not the O word, but a media filled with Socialist/Communist people (let’s get over being afraid to use those words) who have just elected the next President. There was no way to turn the tide, regardless of who our candidate was. John McCain was the sacraficial goat. And I am glad it was him and not some really good conservative candidate who we would never see again.
Now what do we do? We must have a plan. Historically, these kinds of upsets only last two to four years at most. (of course the damage may be great in those few years) My humble thought is to keep up the drum beat, spread the word, everytime there is a political hiccup, write about it, blog it, pass the news around your email addresses. We must not be afraid or discouraged. Must keep fighting, not snoozing.
Maybe the media should be the target. We could investigate the schools that have turned out the most biased of reporters, expose the professors, maybe even bring up the history that goes back to the late 1950’s when the decisions were made to infiltrate the schools of journalism in the colleges and universities with the Marxist doctrines.
We need more conservative talk show hosts, (Huckabee is doing a good job, could be a role model), more conservative journalists. We need to be the squeeky wheel that constantly points out the liberal bias in the newspapers and TV via the letters to the editor phone calls to the stations. At first we will be made fun of and belittled, but, I think we must expose the media for what it is. Pick on the big ones first, like CBS, NBC, CNN. They will be the bigger targets and easier to expose.
And don’t let us forget our Democrat Legislators from SD. They need to be exposed every time they vote with the liberals. A letter needs to go into our state papers with a “DID YOU NOTICE THAT TIM/STEPHANIE VOTED WITH …..” on this or that issue. Every time.
We have a lot of mad and upset people right now, let’s use that anger and energy to make a difference.

Well said, MO. Today we begin OUR campaign for change. “YES WE CAN!”

Gid, you don’t have any idea how much we, of the Wing nut clan, love and respect you for your values, for your conservative beliefs, and your strength. Let us not become cynical, nor mean or sarcastic. Let us just remind “THEM” loudly and often it is their game now. Let us see their change. Let them show us this wonderful new world., of more money for education, less taxes, and of course free health care for all. Yes, I must admit I am looking forward to this new world. P.S. Our Wingnut lunches just are not quite the same without you. Oh, Yes the check is in the mail, just as soon as Obama spreads the wealth around. Just kidding. Keep the Faith, and remember, Adversity Builds Character!

What if I was already cynical, mean and sarcastic? Can I just agree not to bump up the levels of cynicism, meanness and sarcasm?

P.S., I too miss the Wingnut lunches. My week just isn’t the same without them. I can’t wait to be done with this annoyance known as formal education.

Read the book “The Art of War” by Sun Tzu. It’s a strategy book more than anything else.
Example: When your enemy is boastful, encourage him…When he’s weak, build yourself up.
I was quite libertarian when I took Journalism courses in college but I didn’t really get hit too hard with the liberal mentality until I started working in the business.
I think we need to start talking about conservative principles any chance we get. Not like ‘you’ve got to stop living off the government, man!’ but ‘I’m going to stop using credit cards because I can’t afford the interest’ or ‘I’ve got to teach my kids about government, they don’t even know who Benedict Arnold is!’ But instead of those occasions being whenever we think of it, we should try to show our opinion everyday.
I’ve already made my peace with the situation. I’ve decided to put God first, then take care of my family, promote conservatism and be vigilant for my conservative principles and for those who share those beliefs. I suggest the same for all here, because conservatism did not lose yesterday…McCain and the RiNO’s did!

One good thing that has already come out of this is that the racial grievance industry is no more. Oh we’ll still see the Rev. Al Sharpton bellowing with a megaphone or Jesse Jackson trying to shack down some company, it’s all they know. No one will take them seriously anymore.
