The Problem with Ignoring a Persons Abilities.
We have a disease in America. It’s Ignoring what a person CAN do for what they look like, their party affiliation is or how much money they make. Talent and success comes from a free mind and a selfless desire to help others. I think Ronald Reagan, JFK and Martin Luther King, Jr. would agree with these beliefs. We must stop bypassing competence in America!
Nanci Pelosi is a good example. When the bailout failed to go through the house she made her insightful comment on the Great Depression, “I don’t know what’s so great about the Great Depression, but that’s the name they give it.” She was given her position because she was a woman, not because she was exceptional. There are many other examples of her naivete and partisanship.
WalMart is continually denounced for nefarious behaviour. But the amount of complaints compared to the size of the company is minuscule. They work under a balanced budget and work to satisfy their customers. Other companies and even our Government are more corrupt than they are, with not even half of the scrutiny placed upon them. Could it be their money? Could it be their independence?
Sarah Palin has a laundry list of accusations (mostly having to do with family members) which have nothing to do with her ability to run the country. Sarah is the only candidate who has executive experience! The downplay of her positions and of the location of her offices are really sophomoric arguments. She may even be the best Presidential candidate among the four of them. And yes, even starting in January of 2009.
In South Dakota, how are we not vetting Tim Johnson’s ability to debate in the Senate? The commercials, where he only endorses the message, are painful to hear. Do you think a eager Democrat Senator is going to yield to Senator Tim Johnson’s mousy voice, so he can lose an opportunity to influence his constituents? We shouldn’t be mean, but we should be honest!
And of course, Barack Obama. We are trusting he means what he says! But, these are the issues…We should be examining them until we are exhausted…How much has he worked with Bill Ayers(Yes, the ex-bomber with a degree in childhood education)? When Obama attended services with Rev. Wright, wasn’t he paying attention or can’t he confront someone with strong anti-American views? Why did you and Tony Rezko visit the property together before the purchase AND what did you talk about? Why did you pay $300,000 less to the sellers when you purchased the house and then $60,000 more to Rita Rezko after Tony was indicted for influence-peddling? And also, what did you mean when you said,
‘I’ve been fighting alongside ACORN on issues you care about my entire career. Even before I was an elected official, when I ran Project Vote voter registration drive in Illinois, ACORN was smack dab in the middle of it, and we appreciate your work.’ — Barack Obama, Speech to ACORN, November 2007
when ACORN is currently being charged with voter fraud? Give me one good reason we should be trusting Barack Hussein Obama! I KNOW Hussein is a family name! A family from Kenya, which Obama was a citizen and has never renounced. I think most Obama supporters would vote differently, if they looked into these facts. But I guess Obama has done that for them with Fight the Smears. org .
There are a lot of problems with ignoring the facts in the spirit of being fair and promoting truth; but we have to make a intelligent decision this year. If you understand what will happen if your candidate impliments their policies and you are happy with them; I can live with that. But if you are voting for someone because you are afraid of what people say and don’t research; why don’t you just stay home and ignore what’s going on in your life, just like you have for the other 1,460 days that you didn’t care!
