Barnes: Election is not over. Someone tell McCain!
For someone who isn’t even here, Sarah Palin is certainly the star of the Defending the American Dream Summit today. Whereas last night’s dinner officially focused on Ronald Reagan, today’s session feels like it is dedicated to Sarah Barracuda.
Maybe if we all concentrate really hard, she will appear in a Obi-Wan-Kenobi-esque hologram. I’m pretty sure half the crowd would have heart attacks if she showed up, though. Maybe that’s a bad plan.
Anyway, back on track now…
Fred Barnes of the Weekly Standard addressed the crowd a few moments ago. In no uncertain terms, he expressed some dissatisfaction with the McCain camp.
“The election is not over. Sarah Palin knows this, but I wish somebody would tell John McCain,” he said.
Barnes said the future comes down to one person, which is Sarah Palin.
“She’s the only one who has what Reagan had,” he said. “She’s a star.”
Barnes echoed a common sentiment, telling the crowd no matter the outcome of the presidential election, on November 5, we still have our work cut out for us.
“Even if we lose, there will be a big fight on our hands, and Americans For Prosperity will be a big part of it,” Barnes said.
Update:
Conservative radio man Herman Cain just had perhaps the most succinct quote of the entire summit. After explaining that it’s the pursuit of happiness we’re guaranteed, not happiness itself, he paused and said, “There is no Department of Happy in Washington!”

Yes, It’s going to be tough no matter who wins, but a considerably more manageable task with McCain. So we are going to have to help Sarah drag McCain across the finish line since he doesn’t seem too interested in getting there on his own.

Ya, can’t beat McCain tellin us ‘Don’t be scared of an Obama Presidency!?’
I’m afraid of Socialism!
I’m afraid of Representatives not representing us!
Obama is the candidate, who seems to be trowing away our freedoms, FASTER!
McCain would be better off spouting principle than telling us how to feel. Because Obama’s been doing that for years.

Said while talking on a warrantless NSA monitored phone call thanks to the GOP supported new FISA rules (and voted for by Obama as well)…

But, the NSA isn’t restricting the words we speak. Not only has Obama stifled free speech but has LIED doing so. Example, calling his apponents racist by bringing up relevant issues, like Frank Raines, for example. He plays the race card and the issue is condemned by the MSM.
