South Dakota’s Troopergate!

We are learning from the MSM that State Troopers have the right to use excessive force; but apparently only on their immediate family. State Troopers are NEEDED to keep Law and Order for the citizens living in the state. They need to be respected and given the courtesy to perform their duties.

According to a lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court in Sioux Falls, the fiancee of a man who was shot near Harold believes the Trooper used excessive force when the man pointed a pellet gun at the officer. I’m sure all the facts of the lawsuit have not been disclosed, so I’m going to assume the Trooper is innocent. (Isn’t that how it goes, even for lawsuits?)

Why don’t Troopers get respect until it gets political? In this case a drunk(blood alcohol level 0.293), mentally disturbed individual(by the fiance’s admission) used a pellet gun(which was apparently told to the officer) to threaten an officer with a shotgun. If you get shot by doing so, it should be assumed that you could die. Even, if you aren’t thinking about it.

Troopers need to be respected, so these accidents don’t happen. They need to take their responsibilities seriously and they should be given the ‘benefit of the doubt’ that they are doing so.
