Herseth Sandlin expecting

Posted By Gid | July 23, 2008

From the Associated Press:

South Dakota Rep. Stephanie Herseth Sandlin is expecting her first child in late December.

In an e-mail to friends and supporters, Herseth Sandlin and husband, former Texas Rep. Max Sandlin, said they were overjoyed to share the news. She said they are looking forward to a “particularly blessed holiday.”

“Max and I could not be more excited about the new addition on the way, and we are grateful for your continued love and support as we celebrate this news,” Herseth Sandlin said in an e-mail from her campaign.

Spokesman Russ Levsen confirmed the news, saying the pregnancy will not affect Herseth Sandlin’s re-election this year. He said the late December due date works well with the congressional schedule, since the House is not expected to be in session at that time.

Herseth Sandlin, 37, wed fellow Democrat Sandlin in March 2007. Max Sandlin has four children from a previous marriage.

The South Dakotan will not be the only member of Congress to have a baby this year. Rep. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., gave birth to her second child in May.

Sen. John Thune, R-S.D., wished Herseth Sandlin well in a call with reporters Wednesday.

“It’s a great chapter in life,” he said. “They have great times ahead and we wish them well.”

Wonder where EMILY’s List is on this one. Mrs. Herseth-Sandlin has been so hell-bent on keeping anybody from reproducing — why the change now?

10:19 p.m. Update: The Rapid City Journal apparently doesn’t like people who bring up uncomfortable subjects in light of such a happy article, or free thinkers for that matter. Marketplace of ideas my a**. -Gid

I took a vow of silence on this topic until it becomes a political issue.

We’re bloggers, man! Our sole existence is based on making stuff like this into a political issue. ;-)

This is typical of Limousine Liberals. “Do as I say, not as I do” or “We only want to hep you.” Like the Eco-Whakos, who grow rich on Federal enviro grants, living in huge log homes in the middle of the forest. Or the peddlers of National Health Care. They want it for you, but when they need care they want it now. And of course there are the suckers of the man made global warming myth. They and their Poster-Boy, Algore, want you to be riding a bicycle to work in the winter time and to wait for the wind to blow so you can turn on your compact fluorescent bulb. But they will continue to go hunting in their SUV’s and fly their G-5’s and live in homes that have a larger carbon footprint than most towns in South Dakota. They’ll just buy carbon credits. They can afford them, you can’t. Say, I wonder if Steph and Max purchased some for the bun in the oven. He/she will need them more than a college education.

That was a pretty heartless post.

Was it? Thanks for the judgement, Bob. -Gid

Similar thoughts crossed my mind when I first read about his. Herseth Sandlin and her pro-abortion buddies seem to think pregnancy is such an oppressive burden on women, I’m surprised she isn’t running out to the first available Planned Parenthood clinic to get rid of her child.

But I guess that’s the difference in the liberal mind: Wanted=Human, Unwanted=Tissue. How logical and scientific.

I am thinking…we definately have enough ammo in our arsenal, that we don’t need to use a situation where Sandlin may have a change of heart on the Pro-Choice matters.

If you want to be obnoxious, yeah, I can do that. But Let’s make a goal to change peoples minds.

Now go find some Bobby Jindal articles and get some inspiration. :)

It would be awesome if Herseth had a change of heart when she gets to see her ultrasound.
