Video: True Heroism vs. True Lunacy

Posted By Gid | June 30, 2008

Thanks to Glenn Beck for reporting on this story. Watching this made me just a little sad, but even moreso outraged. It goes to show how an organization with the most noble of beginnings can fall prey to the schemes of the leftist elite.

The video player is on the right side of this page. When you are done watching it, send a link to your friends… especially the ones who think the former VicePOTUS is such a hero for making, well, a movie about a slideshow.

And now you know, as Paul Harvey would say, the rest of the story.

Be in peace, Irena Sendler.

This is another, in a long line of discredit to the Nobel Prize Committee. If Rush Limbaugh knew about her nomination I like to think he would have withdrawn his nomination. I know it would have made no difference to Algore.

When Tom Blowjaw wrote “The Greatest Generation,” was Irena featured? No. Perhaps it wasn’t that broad a tome. I know there were thousands, no, millions of examples of heroism during that dark period of human civilization and Irena’s is exceptional. Exceptional enough to have a meeting with Pope John Paul II. Apparently not exceptional enough for the prize committee. If we’re ever plunged into that abyss again (as some struggle to do) I prey that there is an Irena there for the children of that tragedy.

I’m curious, as one of the real, down-to-earth conservatives in this state (one of MANY): Where do you Wingnuts stand on IM 10? If I called it a goofy measure of insanity would you go all Sibby on me and rant, or do you read and understand measures like this?

IM 10 in a nutshell: Good intent, cool name, bad bill. The devil is in the details, so call it names if you’d like. I doubt anyone here will ‘Sibby’ you for it.

#2, I like the title (as written) most “fears” I have heard are baseless. It basically castrates lobbyists for government agencies. It will make the actual government agencies and elected officilas do their own “lobbying” - BUT - I know I am in minority on that issue, not gonna fight hard for it, but if you would like some civil debate, I am game.

    Re: grudznick’s comments

Mr. Grudznick, I certainly won’t go Sibby on you. I believe the measure is poorly written, overly broad, and too wordy.
I believe groups like Municipal League, Chambers of Commerce, ESD+6, Association of County Commissioners, and on and on and on, should not be given tax dollars to lobby against the citizens of this state. That is just flat wrong!
I just do not believe this measure will stop this from happening.
I do believe the Open and Clean Government group has the right idea, just the wrong measure.
    My 2 cents!
