Federal appeals court kills injunction on abortion law

It’s a small step… but it’s a step in the right direction.

From the AP, via the Rapid City Journal’s wire service:

PIERRE, S.D. - A federal appeals court has overturned a lower court order that had blocked enforcement of a South Dakota law that would require doctors to tell women seeking abortions that the procedure ends a human life.

The split decision by the 8th U.S. Court of Appeals sends the case back to U.S. District Judge Karen Schreier (SHRY’-ur) of Rapid City for further proceedings. Schreier had temporarily prevented the law from taking effect while she decides whether it is constitutional. She ruled it might violate the free-speech rights of doctors.A service of the Associated Press(AP)

I’m not getting my hopes up too high that this case is over, since it now goes back to Schreier, but as I said, it’s at least a step in the right direction.
